Pastor's Update

Death

As I ponder about the past week and the two funerals we had here at Liberty Church. It has reminded me about the subject of death. Death is sure. It is certain, and we all deal with death in different ways:

  1. Some do not want to talk about it at all, assuming it will go away.
  2. Others fear it. Thus, they live paralyzed lives with no hope of security in Christ.
  3. Then, there are those, like King David, who face it. They realize their “days are numbered” and we all have an appointment with death.

As believers we don’t need to fear death. As the Psalmist says we only walk through the valley of the “shadow” of death and He is with us. Praise God!

Faithful at All Cost

More than two hundred years ago when the United States Marine Corps first formed, officials gave much time to considering what the motto should be. They finally came up with the Latin phrase "Semper Fidelis", a phrase which means always faithful.

These two words encourage marines to be faithful. He is not to be faithful when it’s convenient or when he feels like it. It means to be faithful at all cost. That is why the greatest ability is indeed dependability. May we as believers understand the importance of taking every opportunity to be faithful and dependable when it comes to serving the Lord and His Church
